Louvre Museum
The Louvre Museum is a landmark of French art. Which is one
of the busiest historical museums in the world. There are many famous museums
in France, but the first of the most famous museums in the world is Louvre.
Which is the oldest museum known all over the world. This world famous ancient
museum is located in Paris, the capital of France. It was built in 1202 under
the then King Philip Augustus of France, on the right bank of the Sinn River,
between the Tuileries Garden and St. Germain Church. Since then, the museum has
been used as a royal castle, royal residence and exhibition hall for centuries.
However, the idea of using the Louvre Castle as a public museum came to mind
in the late eighteenth century. If you want to know more about this, you can read
the history of the museum. Because this museum is famous for its French
history. Built on an area of more than 60,000 square meters, the museum has a
variety of exhibits. Although the museum started its journey with only 537 exhibits,
at present the number of exhibits in this museum is about 35,000. Most of the
artefacts preserved in the museum are quite old. The Louvre Museum's archives
are divided into eight curatorial sections. The names of these curatorial
sections are displayed as follows:
1. Department of Near Eastern
Antiquities
2. Department of Roman Antiquities
3. Department of Etrascan Antiquities
4. Department of Greek Antiquities
5. Department of Decorative Art
6. Department of Egyptian Antiquities
7. Department of Sculpture
8. Department of Islamic Art
Each section is individually arranged with individual French antiques and exhibits. So the feeling of visiting each department is also different. For example, if you go to the Near Eastern Antiquities section, you will be introduced to the oldest Mesopotamian civilization in the world. The civilization that developed on the banks of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. In the decorative art section, you will find various items of the French kings including jewelery, furniture and pottery. Moreover, in every section of the museum you will find all the ancient relics. Each of which has its own special significance.
