History of France

                              History of France

Today I will talk about the history of France, the oldest state in the western world. But let's get started –

The history of France is very ancient and very diverse. Not much is known about the first inhabitants of France. However, as far as is known, people of different tribes began to enter and settle in France from the 8th century BC. The ancient Romans first occupied France (first century BC) and began to rule. The Romans then ruled France for several centuries. But the Roman Empire collapsed in the 5th century AD. After the fall of the Romans, several dynasties ruled France continuously. But in the Middle Ages the dynasty's rule was disrupted. As a result, in the Middle Ages, dynasties lost the power to rule their kingdoms, and feudalism based on local rulers emerged. Later, from the 14th century to the 18th century, the power of the monarchy gradually increased. As a result, they gradually built up a huge military force and a central bureaucracy. Although many dynasties have consistently ruled France in the Middle Ages, none of them have been able to establish a continuum of efficient good governance for many centuries. Following this, the monarchy also fell through the French Revolution in 1789. As a result, France has been mired in political turmoil for almost a century and a half. In the midst of such political existence (during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte) the country was able to build a modern industrialized economy. Which is rare in history.

Over time, France has become one of the top developed countries in the world. In France, which once had political instability for many years, a well-developed political system still exists today. France has had to make many sacrifices and wait a long time to present its uniqueness to the world. As a result, in this age of modernization, France is known to the world today for its unique identity. The "French language" recognized by the French government gained its status as an ideal language only in the 17th century. Before that most people in France spoke other languages. Moreover, "French" became the standard language of France, but by the twentieth century, a quarter of French people spoke a variety of languages. Moreover, the part of present-day Europe known as France appeared only after the end of the Middle Ages. Although the majority of French are Roman Catholics, conversions (mostly) are very slow. Until the nineteenth century, most Catholics did not believe in their traditional rites. But later on, they developed their own uniqueness by developing rationality among themselves over time.

Although France's history is almost thousands of years old, the country's military power and economic situation have not always been the same. History has shown that the French economy collapsed several times in the past. World War I was a tragedy for the French economy. Because almost the whole of World War I took place on French soil. As a result, the country suffered huge losses. The result was a massive blow to the French economy. However, during World War II, France rebuilt its dusty economy and emerged as one of the world's major industrialized nations. Moreover, in the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century, the French power and economy of France flourished. And so France then established a huge colonial empire, rivaling the British Empire around the world.

Two of the greatest wars in history took place in our land called Earth. One was World War I (1914-1918) and the other was World War II (1939-1945). Which caused the whole world to suffer. France played a central role in these two world wars. In the aftermath of World War II, France developed anti-imperialist and anti-French movements in its various colonies, and for all these reasons, France soon lost most of its colonies. So the French government gave the power of dictatorship to "Charles de Gaulle", one of the French leaders of World War II, to deal with the adversity during his miserable plight. Charles de Gaulle later established France as a powerful state in the world political arena. Although neighboring Germany occupied northern France during World War II, in recent times France, along with Germany, has been playing a major role in the politics and economy of the whole of Europe.
